Post-Event Crisis Counseling
Service Description
A crisis can be a traumatic event or experience; it can also be an individual's response to the occurrence. Events that trigger a crisis can happen at any time of life. They can have community impact, like with natural disasters or affect individuals, as in the death of a loved one. Crisis counseling is an intervention that can help individuals deal with the crisis by offering sort-term assistance, information and emotional support. It differs from traditional counseling in that the focus is on minimizing distress and expanding coping strategies. When a significant event impacts a group of people, such as a workplace or church community, it can be beneficial to bring in optional and accessible crisis services for a brief amount of time to provide additional support to your group. We can help you determine your approach and/or provide the direct service.
